Cacao Peanut Smoothie Bowl

A chocolate smoothie bowl in the garden this morning… one way to make Monday less Monday πŸ™ŒπŸΌ I am a huge breakfast advocate. I am hungry the moment I wake up and pretty much struggle to function until I’ve eaten (and caffeinated). Yes, some people fast or miss breakfast… and I’m sure they’ll tell you its wonderful and makes them feel a million dollars. But if it doesn’t work for you then it doesn’t work for you. Nutrition is HUGELY personal and you should never try to hijack what your body needs just because somebody else’s doesn’t.

Whether you wake up, workout and then eat; whether you wake up, coffee then eat; whether you wake up and can’t handle breakfast for a couple of hours; listen to your body… it’s pretty damn cool and knows what it needs. Whichever of the above you are this smoothie bowl is THE ONE. Especially on a sunny day in the garden.

Cacao & Peanut Smoothie Bowl
🍌 1 frozen banana
🍌 1 handfuls of kale or spinach
🍌 2 dates
🍌 2 tsp cacao powder
🍌 1 tbsp peanut butter
🍌 1 tsp maca powder
🍌 almond milk (approx 200ml)
🍌 1 @larabaruk peanut choc chip, sliced 🍌 optional: 1-2 scoops protein powder
🍌 extra banana to top
🍌 cacao nibs
1️⃣ add everything apart from the Lara banana, extra banana and cacao nibs to a blender and blitz until smooth
2️⃣ Pour into a bowl and top with the Larabar, extra banana and cacao nibs

The lara bar on top absolutely made this – their Banana Choc Chip flavour would also be ruddy delicious on top too.Β
Perfect start to a Monday enjoying the sunshine outside πŸ’›
